Are you ready to score some boards?
Chances are, after you've finished setting up your fuel, you'll need some lumber. Advanced buildings almost always require lumber to build them, so this is a logical next step. Well, at least for me.
In my head I drew what I want my block to be because I want to have passive water and energy for as many buildings as possible. I already have temporary energy and water production from the fuel plant, which is necessary for lumber production, so I can gradually make my first five loads of lumber.
You need lumber to build a power plant, so you should use wind power and place the mill next to the water pump so you don't have to run to the warehouse for water every minute.
The reason for having a section of paved road is because we place the power plant in the center and it needs to be on a paved road in order to work. The power plants provide passive power to the buildings around, as does the water pump, and while it's expensive to run one sawmill, we're planning to run probably three or more fabric mills to save a fortune in time and money later. .

So here we are touching the water pump and we don't have to go to the warehouse to get a barrel of water. It may not seem like a big deal, but every 30-60 seconds really matters. When we get our 5 lumber lifts, we will turn on the power plant and have a constant source of electricity that will save us probably a minute or so on each cycle, and maybe every minute if it is set up correctly.

We now have a lumber yard across the street and a power plant behind us. As long as the wood supply is stable, we can produce tons of lumber when the weaving mills and iron mines are up and running. Then this sawmill won't be enough, but in the beginning it's all you need to start making a good coin.
I should note that it is not profitable to sell lumber, but you will probably have a surplus in the beginning, and if you have fuel, you can sell it. Just don't plan to be a forest tycoon and dominate the game.
The paved road section and the pump are also a great place to start the refinery when needed. I'll just leave this empty when I'm not refining since we won't need a ton of gas when we start selling higher value products like uniforms and eventually blued steel.
The Logger House is used to cut down trees at a faster rate and return the logs to craft items. The The Logger House aka Magnus, takes raw materials which the Windmill uses to craft Flour, Sugar and Salt. He’ll also take items to the Lumber Mill. The Logger House is the big brother to the Lumberjack with a wicked beard. He’s tougher, faster and stronger – enough said.

Lumberjack House’s are used to take trees and harvest them into wood. You need a Wood Shed or Lumber Yard in order to store your harvested logs. If you have trees or a tree farm, you’ll need a lumberjack to help!
